HOTEL CONTACT INFORMATION

The meeting is being held at the La Condesa Hotel in Heredia, Costa Rica from 6/17-6/22. For full information about the venue, please access the La Condesa Hotel website (website will open in another window). The phone number for the La Condesa is Country Code + 506-267-6000. Accommodation during the course of the meeting will also be at the La Condesa.

If you need to check-in prior to Sunday, 6/17 or check-out after Saturday, 6/23 you will need to make your own hotel reservation for the extra nights. Here a couple of suggestions for accommodation:

San José:

Heredia: Please take note that the La Condesa Hotel may have availability for Saturday, June 16. Their contact information is above.

TRANSPORTATION

Traveling time between the San José airport and Heredia is about 30-40 minutes. Taxis cost $21 per car (4-passengers) and $30 per minibus (8 passengers). Closer to the meeting time, a document listing the arrival times of all participants will be posted in order to more easily coordinate cab sharing.

Here are some simple driving directions from the San José International Airport to La Condesa Hotel:

From the airport head to Heredia, from Heredia head to San Rafael. From San Rafael continue north to Los Angeles, pass Los Angeles and stay on the main road for 3 km until you see the sign on the right for Hotel La Condesa.

In Costa Rica is very common to ask for directions from any one and people will always help you; so don't hesitate to ask for directions if you are lost.

EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION

If your flight is delayed or you encounter other problems during travel, please call the satellite phone being carried by the MARGINS Office. Call 1-480-768-2500 and when you hear the greeting "Welcome to the Iridium Satellite Network, please enter the number of the person you are trying to reach" enter the satellite phone number 8816 4147 1421 (you will be charged your phone carrier's long distance rate to Arizona).

Alternatively you can call the La Condesa Hotel (+ 506-267-6000) and ask them to pass on a message to Cary Kandel or Pamela Lezaeta.

PRESENTATION INFORMATION

The meeting room has wired internet connections and limited wireless internet. Please bring a j45 cable if you wish to use one of the wired connections. Posters should be no larger than 4' x 4' (1.22 m x 1.22 m). Please email Cary Kandel (ckandel@bu.edu) if your poster exceeds these dimensions.

OPTIONAL DAY TRIP

There will be an optional day trip to INBioparque on the morning of Wednesday, June 20. The trip will depart by 8:00 am and return to the hotel for lunch at 12:00 pm, the park is 40 minutes from La Condesa. A package including transportation and admission totals $22.
